4. Observation on Teacher

Planning for teaching

Before doing teaching and learning process, teacher usually prepares some things such as laptop, projector and the power point that is going to be used. Teacher also always check the students readiness for following the lessons.

Preparing lessons and materials

The lessons and materials mostly are taken from books. Teacher also prepares power point, videos or pictures as a media to deliver the material and also prepare the evaluation usually uses workseat.

Teaching in class

While doing teaching and learning process, firstly teacher always opening prayer, checking of attendance and then checking of classroom physical set-up. In the learning process the teacher divided to four steps are given an motivation by animation video or by picture, lecturer the materials, explain the employ about the topics, then summarize the lesson.

Measurement an Evaluation
After summarize the lesson, the teacher are often uses an exercise represent the topics probably for 6-10 number. The teacher write down the question (reactants of equations) and then ask the student to try answer it by their self and gave the limit time. Then, the students write down their answer on the whiteboard as informal evaluation. While in the end of the topics there is a workseat as a formal evaluation

Overall impression to the teacher performances

my impression to the teacher performances is changing my opinion about chemistry class. Chemistry subject is one of most difficult science materials so that’s why often the students are inactive in classes. But, in UST JHS mostly the student are active and adore to try answer a question and they are very spirited when lesson in progress. For example when the teacher ask them to answer some question they are very interest to answer during raise their hand. And the most important I found out some differences between the material on chemistry subject in Indonesia and Philippines. there are so many topics that I didn’t learn in High school in Indonesia.
